A member of the famous family of celebrities who are often referred to as a “Cinderella” family is Caroline Brazier. She has been described as one of the most famous faces of Hollywood glamour. It was her first marriage to Richard Nixon that spawned her acting career. She went on to play other memorable characters such as Miss Daisy in The Godfather, Hildegard of Bingen in Erich von Dahn and Cleopatra in Act III of the Lion King.
A close friend of former Prime Minister John Howard, Caroline was also an ardent supporter of the famous Liberal leader. She always remained discreet about her political opinions, as opposed to some of her fellow colleagues. For example, it was public knowledge that Howard wished to abdicate the prime ministership and step into the helm of cabinet by having one of his own ministers appointed to the position. Though not officially a Liberal, the public did know that she was an ardent Labor voter. Howard eventually won the election with a majority of seats. Following her husband’s unexpected death, Caroline became the face of an ever-growing bitterness within the Labor party.
After several years away from the screen, Caroline returned in the late eighties to reprise her role as the villainous “Vicki”. She played a series of frightening roles, including the Nurse Ratchets in the horror film “Psycho”. The role earned Caroline Brazier the ultimate recognition of Hollywood. She appeared in a number of other popular films such as “Trainspotting”, “Dressed Up”, “The Perfect Storm” and the much-awaited” Outbreak”. These films helped to establish her reputation as one of Australia’s best known and most respected actresses. She also received critical acclaim for her performance in the film “Amelia”.
Caroline Brazier has always remained open to the idea of taking part in a horror film in the future. She even went so far as to say “if I can’t do it, then I will certainly go see a horror film.” Although, at the moment in time, she is only contracted to appear in one movie, her love of cinema is such that she would happily agree to do anything else that comes to the entertainment table. “If I get to play a girl who has psychic powers, I will do anything. If I get to play a crazy lunatic, I will do anything.”

As an Australian actor, one could say that Caroline Brazier has a wish upon a star. Her wish is one that all actresses should have. She is one of the few actresses in the history of horror films that have achieved both success and tremendous fame, thanks to a very unique career that has spanned two decades. She has achieved this feat thanks to the success of her first two films, “Scream” and “The Perfect Score”, which earned her a reputation as an Australian horror film director. Now, at the age of thirty-one, she is about to embark upon her next project, “Caroline Brazier: Haunting”.
One of the greatest tragedies of our time is the lack of originality amongst talented young directors in the film industry. It is truly unfortunate that someone with such promise has been shut out by mainstream audiences due to factors beyond her control. One of the best ways to ensure that future female directors don’t end up forgotten is to see what the popular stars are doing next. By studying what they are doing, you can also apply similar elements of creativity to your own short film, should you wish to take advantage of their success.
