The biggest thing that sets Days Gone apart from the other Days Gone games is the open-world action-adventure game set in a near-future New York City. This aspect is what really differentiates these Days Gone games from their predecessors, including Days Gone Dead, Days Gone Home, and Days Gone Texas. The story is told through a point-and-click narrative, and players are taken on a journey throughout a mall, with a heavy emphasis on scavenging. The protagonist is named Franklin and has been hired by Bester to retrieve something valuable from a certain location within the mall. While on the way, he stumbles upon a brutal killing and a rogue bounty hunter called Damon.
Days Gone: The Remasted has received mixed reviews from critics and gamers. Some have praised the game for its crisp, colorful visuals, while others have commented that it lacks the originality of the previous titles. Overall, there’s no denying that the visuals are definitely lacking, but the game still has excellent gameplay. In fact, this open-world gameplay is what makes Days Gone such a great release – mixing true-life urban jungle environments with a mixture of top-notch first-person shooter mechanics.
Days Gone also features some great, varied gameplay. Some of the gameplay involves sneaking around various areas of the mall, while others involve fighting through waves of hordes. You can even shoot the hordes as they approach your location, though this element of gameplay is only possible after you’ve begun to explore the mall. Overall, I’d recommend playing through the early portions of the game before going all out with the combat. It’s not necessary, but it’s certainly worth doing. Days Gone: The Remasted is a fun action-adventure title that combines the best elements of Left 4 Dead Rising.
