Declan Rice is a professional English football player who currently plays for Premier League powerhouse West Ham United in the English Premier League. He is originally from Donegal in Ireland. He began playing soccer for the youth club of Chelsea in 2021 at the tender age of seven. Since making his first-team debut for Chelsea, he has gone on to play for Reading, Watford, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Rangers, Queens Park Rangers and West Bromwich Albion.

Declan Rice is a versatile football player having both attacking and defensive attributes. A versatile player, he is excellent in attack but equally good on the defensive end of the field. A right back, he can play the position well either centrally or on the left side. His best position is at right wing where he can provide support for the striker or CAM. A right midfielder is usually involved in the build up play of attack but sometimes does not have much space to operate in.
A promising young player, Declan Rice impressed with his performances for Ireland during the 2021 World Cup. He made eleven appearances for the Irish national team and scored one goal. He was also selected for the Seville side that won the Claus Domsavilla cup which is also won by the Irish. Declan Rice’s performances in the Ireland team earned him a call up to the England squad that travelled to France for their 2021 World Cup qualification. After impressing at such a young age in the premier league, he was then called up by England for their European Championship qualifying group.
Declan Rice’s impressive international career has seen him sign his first professional contract with the renowned Scottish champions Celtic. He was then named in the PFA Team of the Year along with defender Chris Davis. He has also won two caps for the Republic of Ireland. He is now eligible to represent the Republic of Ireland at the forthcoming World Cup finals in Germany.
Declan Rice has also featured at the prestigious Uefa Nations cup for Northern Ireland. This was his first appearance at a major tournament and he impressed the Park Stadium managers with his attitude and performance. He earned the ire of many Irish people after scoring his only goal at this competition but it was a very good experience for him as well as the rest of his countrymen. He went on to score three goals in his next four games which eventually saw him become a regular member of the Irish national team. His performances earned him a recall to the England squad that helped them qualify for the world’s championship later that year.
So it is no surprise that Declan Rice has been named in the2019 young player of the month. It is fair to say that he has impressed the management of the Surrey club where he plays. This is a big boost for a player who has been playing in the top leagues in the north.
