Eid Al Fitr 2023 in Belgium is on the second week of Ramadan and this marks the end of Ramadan festivities. The celebrations to mark the end of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr is the Muslims’ main holiday in Morocco. The name of the festival is derived from the Arabic word” Eid “,which means “end of the journey”. The tradition of breaking one’s fast began in Morocco and it was later adopted by other Islamic countries, including Syria and Egypt. The first party was held in Syria in the 18th century. In Egypt, the first Eid party was held in Damanhour in 1900 before it was introduced by the British in Lagos, Nigeria.
