What do people do during Eid Al Fitr? The traditional process of Eid Al Fitr involves gathering at a place where there are elderly and young people, men and women both. The elders of the community then hold prayers and share good wishes to the family and friends of the younger generation. They then join their friends in doing shopping at local markets where they buy Eid clothes, jewelry, and Eid accessories.
Throughout the day, the streets are thronged by Muslims from different areas of Senegal to attend the Eid celebration. Those who cannot make it in person can catch up with the celebrations by watching it on television or by watching live streaming videos online. The usual Fatima funeral procession takes place in the Muslim neighborhoods of the city where people carry the coffin and throw stones at each other.
