Eid ul Adha 2022 moon sighting

Eid ul-Adha is a major religious festival that falls on the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. This celebration marks the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the Islamic calendar. People all over the world to observe this occasion in different countries. If you happen to be in Egypt during the time of Eid ul-Adha, then you are likely to witness a lot of street celebrations and fireworks exhibitions. But what is really behind the Eid moon sightings and where did they originate?

An Eid moon sighting happens when a crescent moon is seen by a naked-eye on the evening sky. A dark reddish-brown spot in the centre of the moon is considered to be the moon. This is because it is not the full moon but a new moon. The moon is associated with the planet Venus. The largest mass in the solar system is also known as the moon and is therefore referred to as the “moon”.

Many scientists believe that the moon does not influence the earths climate and weather patterns. However, there are a few groups who believe that it can. These include Islamic religious groups and followers of astrology. Some lunar scientists believe that moon sightings can indicate a new phase starting to form, which could in turn start to affect weather patterns on our planet.

So how can one watch for the moon in an Eid ul-Adha lunar event? In Egypt, there are a number of lunar events which people tend to pay more attention to. For example, at the start of the month, a new phase starts to form. If a person in Egypt observes a new moon sighting then it’s possible that new events will start to affect the weather on the following day. For example, the rain may stop overnight or there may be heavy rainfall. Therefore, moon sightings should be taken seriously.

There are a number of tools which people use to track the moon cycle. The National Oceanography Institute in the United Kingdom has a website which shows the present moon phase information. A calculator, called the moon score, which can be used online to determine the time of the new moon phase. This can be useful as it gives the chance to take advantage of any clear skies as the closer it gets to the predicted time, the bigger the chances of weather-related events such as heavy rain and cloud formation. People should try and observe the moon at least twice every week during the entire month, as the weather can significantly affect the predicted weather.

Many Islamic scholars of science have weighed in on the topic and most believe that there is no relation between the new moon and Eid. However, most people do keep an eye on the weather reports and will take note of anything that seems unusual or strange. It will then be up to the individuals to see if they see anything in the sky that they think could be associated with the new moon.
