Eva Celia or also known as Eva Celia Lesmana is Indonesian actresses and singer-songwriter of dual German, Dutch, Javanese, German, Bugis, Minangkabau, and Madurese descent who became famous for her role in the hit series Kung Mangai Kita. She is also a member of the popular singing group, The Alive Ones. Celia went to live in Germany to study drama after her graduation from drama school. She worked there for two years in the German city of Cologne and then went on to join a performing troupe in Tokyo.
Celia moved to Australia and joined the family-owned jazz band, Bluebeans. Soon after, she discovered and pursued her dream of becoming an artist in the film industry. It was here that she would meet her future lead actor, Michael Parks. Together they made a hit in the Netherlands called “Anamanagansam” which was highly acclaimed and went to number two in the entire Netherlands list.

After working on various projects, Celia decided to focus on her acting career and did her best in the animated web series “Chronos”, a Chinese Kung Fu television series and “The Pirate’s Child”. After that, she finally landed a role in the feature film “The Nutcracker” alongside Jim Carrey as the voice of the lead character Nutcracker. These films were extremely successful in Indonesia and even led to the first ever live action film in the country, “Sekhar Resham Dunya”.
Eva Celia’s own musical career began in 1998 when she was cast in the popular musical comedy film “Anamanagansam”. It was directed by Angie Linehan and featured standout comedic performances by Denholm Elliott, Kevin Dunn, Mandy Patinkin, Dabney Coleman, and John Turturro. The movie was a box office hit, grossing over three-quarters of a million dollars, and went on to become one of the most popular movies of the decade.
Eva Celia also had a story to tell, so to speak, in her own musical called “The Nutcracker”. The storyline follows the life of a single parent with two children who lives in the small Dutch village of Nieuwenhof. The parents are separated due to their marriage, and their daughter is left in the care of her grandmother. The grandmother decides she wants to free the girl and marry him. However, since she does not have enough money, she must sell her services to a married man so that she may marry him.
This film provided the base for a series of movies and a stage play all based on the same plot.
