The first Happy Teachers Day has already been declared by the Government of Philippines. The very next day, April 14th, marks the official recognition of teachers as a significant component of society. In line with this, various organizations and individuals around the globe will be celebrating a “Happy Teachers’ Day”. Below are a collection of quotes and sayings that teachers worldwide can best utilize on this special day:
“I’m so glad my students chose me to be their education teacher because I give a lot of pleasure to them. Teachers are appreciated and respected – that’s why it’s important to celebrate our happy day.” ~ Karen Alba, President of the National Association for Education in the Philippines
” happiest teacher is a teacher with a smile on her face. When you smile at your students, they become happy.” ~ Margret Westwood, teacher from Colorado Springs, CO. Karen Lamb, President of the International Association for Educators, says that teachers should be encouraged to use positive sayings on classrooms. ~ David Goodman, President of Good Leadership Institute, concurs with this idea.
“I don’t have to tell you, kids are smart. They pick up what they hear from teachers and then repeat what they have learned to other teachers.” ~ Richard Carlson, President of the Southern Indiana University at Anderson, says. ~ Beverly Hills Math Academy says using this quote in their yearbook is one way of getting students excited about learning – and winning the classroom game.

“I was asked by some colleagues to write a quote about teachers. I couldn’t do it. They said that they would be happy if I did. Well, I’m not going to get upset with them, but I have to make it nice for the teachers. So I went out and did a search on the Internet and came up with these quotes. Hopefully, after reading these, our teachers around the world will realize how much they mean to our students and how much the administration staffs need to appreciate them.”
Our nation’s education system is no exception to the rule. It is sad to see how our society has lost sight of its goals of teachers leading the children in a better direction. One day, maybe when our nation has fully recovered from the current recession, we can all stand and proud and say, “Yes, teachers were in the classroom!” Happy Teachers Day! Let your voice be heard and teach our children!
