When Friday arrived, the mourners gathered at the seashore started tossing rice balls into the water, hoping to find the elusive husband. The story further says that the husband of Friday was delighted to see his wife again and had the children (including a son) take care of her on the day of Harvest Moon. He then went back to the cave where his wife had been staying and cooked some ginseng which allowed her to become well. At the Full Moon party, Friday was said to have gained 3 places for the first time in her life. The story further states that Friday became a very good cook and this caused her to become a very popular food among people in Korea.

Traditionally, on September day, a group of musicians will gather at the seashore and play songs all night long. This is a major event in Korea, where the whole family gathers together and has a lot of fun. Harvest Moon Festival is also a time when new rice is collected to be given away as gifts to the people. The celebration ends with a grand feast during which the best foods of the season are served to guests.
