Lydia Kandou was born to parents who were part of the Dutch minority in Indonesia during the 19th century. She grew up in a small fishing village near Bogor. She attended the Jakarta University for two years after high school and then continued on to study law. She joined the Indonesian Women Lawyers’ Association and worked there for four years. She retired from the legal profession in 1998.

Lydia was one of the many female attorneys who represented the wives of Indonesian soldiers during the 1965 1966 Indonesian civil war. She later served as an Indonesian representative to the International Tribunal for the Law in Africa. Lydia has lived and worked extensively in Jakarta and is fluent in Indonesian.

A native of Jakarta, Lydia has always maintained her British nationality. She has often acted in British television shows and movies. Her most notable role to date is that of the Indonesian lawyer in the British series of Law and Order. She also appeared in the films Bonfire, Bridget Jones Diary and Notting Hill with Hugh Grant. She lives in London and currently appears in the British television series Once Upon a Time.

As an actress, Lydia has made six feature films all of which were successful. She most notably played the lead role in The Secrets of Sleeping Beauty. She went on to play the role of Cleopatra in the movie version of King Tut. Later in her career she also appeared in other movies including The Mysterious Maiden and Who Framed Roger Rabbit? She has also guest-starred in other popular movies such as The Secret, Casino and Mad Men.

The anniversary of Lydia’s marriage to Richard Nixon is February 21st this year. This would be the second marriage for both. There was also the first marriage for the former actress in 1963. Both husband and wife were tried for leaving the country without their consent as they were not allowed to enter the United States.

Today, March of theses years Lydia has lived in Britain. She has worked in various television programs such as Parkinson, Crime, soap opera and has even been in some films such as A Few Good Men and Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Recently she has become interested in acting again, having been seen on the popular television drama series Strictly Come Back Again. There are some rumors that Lydia is set to have a role in the Harry Potter film due to her connection with director Guy Ritchie.
