National Cat Day 2023 is observed all across the nation. People are celebrating this on the 29th of October 2023 in the United States. Some folks call it National Cat Day. But it is really the American way to celebrate a day that is created and named by an American President. So, how did this come about?
Well, back in Loving Memory, a husband and wife who loved their cat so much created National Cat Day as a way of saying their love and appreciation for their pet. They wanted their story to be told and to get the word out that they were so proud of their feline friend. So, they made a list of all the other names for this particular day. When they were selecting their list of words to include, they kept the one word that meant everything to them – “CAT”.

Here in San Diego, there are National Cat Day BBQ and Cat Clinic where professionals from around the area to work together to offer free cat check-ups and other cat-related services to the community. The proceeds of these events go to help cover the veterinary bills of the area’s pets. In Virginia, Cat lovers are celebrating National Cat Day with the “Spark of Life” competition. This competition awards National Cat Day prizes to those pet owners with the most pets living on the day.
