Determined by the year National Daughters Day is celebrated, the theme this year is “The Power of a Status.” The spirit of this historic celebration is to celebrate the importance of being a mother and to encourage all mothers to be self-sufficient. In keeping with the spirit of the day, there is a new program developed by President Obama and his staff that will allow any mother who is not currently covered by an insurance plan to receive a discounted rate on her health care through the government. Those who may be struggling financially as a result of a family crisis or other personal situation will be able to take advantage of this discounted rate at their place of employment.
Today marks the twenty-fifth year National Daughters Day. In keeping with tradition, the best women in our country are honored on this special day. This National Daughters Day Status is an exciting new program that recognizes the efforts mothers make on their own behalf to care for their children and to provide a quality life to those children.
In addition to the discounted rate available to uninsured mothers, this program will also recognize the efforts of those who have enrolled their children in school. The program recognizes that many mothers may not be able to attend a local school due to financial constraints. When the government recognizes these efforts, they will reward the organization with a share of the proceeds from each sold ticket. This can provide a needed source of income for those mothers who are working minimum wage jobs. For these mothers and their children, a National Daughters Day Status will bring much comfort and added incentive to improve their financial situation.

President Obama and his staff have worked very hard to celebrate the accomplishments of mothers. In fact, they recognize that our country is greatly impacted by the work of mothers in every walk of life.
