Priya Bhavani is an Indian actress. She is popularly known as Priya Bhavani Shankar in India, and as Priya Bhavani in Hollywood films. In fact, she is perhaps best known for her role as the mystic and warrior Queen Kangra in the Indian movie, Rajneeti. In the Tamil language, the title Priya Bhavani Shankar means Queen Priya, and in Hindi, it is referred to as Priya Bhavani Shankar Tamil.

Priya Bhavani has been in the limelight since her first major film entry in the late eighties, where she was a contestant on the popular television program, D-day. After that, Bhai Dooj, a feature film and biopic was released in which she starred. It was then that Priya Bhavani Shankar began receiving national and international attention, particularly after her association with Ajit Guha, who was then famous for his role of Ajit Tika in Mankatha. To date, Manjishtha has not publicly responded to Priya Bhavani’s latest diatribe, but speculation is that he may soon do so. Whatever the case, Priya Bhavani has been able to withstand the onslaught from her erstwhile rival.

Priya Bhavani and Ajit Jhanan had a remarkable relationship, which began when both actors shared the stage together in Khaleja. Priya was initially successful in the serial, and Ajit’s brilliant portrayal of Nandita, an orphaned girl forced to live with a gang of criminals in the slums of Mumbai, won him a string of critical acclaim and popular approval from Hindi films viewers. When Ajit left to pursue a career in cinema, Priya followed, becoming one of the most successful actresses in Hindi films. This success led her to establish a close relationship with Rajkumar Kohli, who produced a number of her films.
